The Vestry is the governing body of the parish, consisting of 12 members, one third of whom are elected for a three year term at each annual parish meeting. They all work with the rector to run the parish.
The Vestry meets monthly to oversee the parish. Included in the agenda are finance, ministries, and supporting the staff in promoting the spiritual well-being of the parish. Various areas of parish activity are organized around committees of lay members. One or more vestry members participate in each committee.
At St. Matthew’s we work together to provide opportunities for service, learning and fun within the church and in the larger community. These opportunities are planned and executed through the work of our Vestry. Vestry members lead the ministries of St. Matthew’s which includes parishioners, vestry members and clergy.
Our organizational structure includes 3 Umbrellas:
- Mission: Mary Cook, Chairperson
- Evangelism: Ashley Morris, Chairperson
- Financial Stability & Transparency: Andrew Jordan, Chairperson
Vestry Members and their organizational Umbrellas are posted on the bulletin board in the church.
