Financial Transparency & Stability Umbrella

Reports to the Parish in January, April, July, and October.

Responsibilities are:

Communications: Responsible for the upkeep of the church website, Constant Contact, bulletins, Newsletter, and publicity for local and diocesan events. The communication committee can be active or passive. The major goal is to keep the parish informed always.

Finance: Oversees the business and financial operations of the parish. Primary responsibilities include: Annual parish budget, monthly financial reports for the Vestry, and overall financial oversight for the wellbeing of the parish and our long-term financial health.

Personnel and Stewardship: Responsibility includes every member canvass and performance of all paid church staff. Annual staff performance reviews, keeping the parish on solid ground with parishioner support financially and staff support.

EVANGELISM UMBRELLA

Reports to the Parish in February, May, August, and November.

Responsibilities are:

Pastoral Care and Newcomers: Welcoming newcomers, social events for newcomers, and provide pastoral care for the ill and bereaved. The commission works closely with the priest to provide seamless crossover from newcomer to parishioner.

Worship: Works with the inner sanctum of the parish. Committee includes the priests, musicians, lay Eucharistic ministers/visitors, and most importantly the Altar Guild. Primarily meets 3 or 4 times a year to plan and set the tone for worship in our common life.

Fellowship: Coordinates special events primarily involving food and fun! Coordinates Lenten series support, annual parish meeting, Advent parties, Thanksgiving dinners, and some support for pastoral care if food is involved and needed. The committee operates yearlong with some surprise events.

MISSION UMBRELLA

Reports in Newsletter or to Parish in March, June, September, and December

Responsibilities are:

Children/Education/Youth: Primary responsibilities is 4th-12th grade youth group, Nursery, children’s social activities, primary church education, and Vacation Bible School. Education includes all age groups including adults and young adults. The commitment is demanding especially strong during the school year but with planning and Vacation Bible it is a yearlong commitment.

Mission and Outreach: Primary responsibilities include providing a link between the parish and material/spiritual needs of the community and the world. Present outreach ministries include but not limited to: Diocesan, city, National Church, and parish specific ministries. Whew! Very busy committee but should have the support of all members of the parish on this committee. Each Sunday we leave altar we are entering the mission field; we are all missionaries.
